The verdict of the beta version of Facebook for Blackberry is good, a lot lighter. I would like to see a notes writer, groups and chat by the end of the year.

New impressive Update to WordPress Blackberry Client May 26, 2010

WordPress has become a leading blog storage site and technology. They have developed over the last 1 to 2 years their Blackberry client version. The last 1.1 client has been updated today to 1.2 and I have already updated. It is impressive, with new speed, new menus, new layout.

LinkedIn Blackberry App Update 1.0.1 To support BIS April 7, 2010

This morning I was greeted with an email from LinkedIn having responded to my complaint about the lack of BIS option on the app, causing users to resort to using TCP connections not covered by BIS montly plans, causing higher bills with operators. Their new update 1.0.1 corrects this, as other bugs. I must say I was pleased with this attention by LinkedIn.

Yesterday we heard that Blackberry Twitter was not going to be released. Today they updated the Beta. The new release is lighter and faster than the former. See Crackberry website for the OTA.

Blackberry Twitter was due to be released by March 31st. It has been hoped to be rich feature app, but I have the beta and I prefer to use Twixtreme or Gravity for Nokia. A lot faster than the Blackberry app. If we believe that the final app is going to be any better is to be deceived. If anything is to be learnt by the LinkedIn app we should know that the wait brings unpleasant surprises. The idea is great, but the OS is too slow and to RAM consuming.

The LinkedIn app for Blackberry was a long time coming not to include BIS in its connections options. You have to use TCP and make sure you have credit. TCP connections are billed differently to BIS. Once you made sure you can use the app. If you have no credit your mobile operator will be blocking TCP connections.

LinkedIn was released today without BIS. This means one cannot use it without paying fees for navigation through WAP or TCP. This is really a promise breaker. What do you think?

The Facebook app has become slow and hard to manage. It needs speeding up. Also Twitter app very heavy on OS system RAM. With these two apps being a no go, who’s to say that the LinkedIn app is going to be any different?
